VJutsu – The Anime/Gaming/Nerd Community of the Rebellion

Not much to say about this one, other than the fact that my fellow aniblogger M12 has just launched his own little community on the internet – VJutsu. You can probably find a lot more info at M12’s blog or the site itself, but either way, if you’re into anime, gaming, and everything else nerd/otaku (which you should be if you’re reading this), then it couldn’t hurt to go sign up. Spread the word; become a Vhinobi.

Karui Shosetsu Magazine Released!

Not sure how well known or obscure these guys are in the otaku community, but I just wanted to do my part in spreading the word of this one-of-a-kind English language Light Novel Magazine. You can find more info at their official blog (linked above) or at their site LightNovel, but the bottom line is that they’re working toward improving the light novel industry in English speaking countries, and that’s something that I can definitely commend.

At the moment, I won’t write too much on this intriguing project as I assume any light novel fan would already be interested, but I think I should mention that I’ll definitely be supporting the magazine in the future. As an amateur novelist and a light novel fan, I’m behind this 100% – congrats on the release of the first issue, and I hope to see more releases in the future!

Taro “Rozen” Aso becomes Japan’s new Prime Minister

I’m not going to pretend to know anything about Japanese politics (hence the lack of an elaborate writeup), but for those of you who haven’t yet heard, the (in)famous Taro Aso has now become the prime minister of Japan. If you don’t know who he is yet, google Rozen Aso or just read DarkMirage’s post on him. Whether this will be good or bad for the country, I couldn’t say, but there’s one thing I CAN say; who wouldn’t want to live in a country with an otaku prime minister?

Fall 2008 Preview

Well, people, it’s that time of year again: the time when every show of the season nears it’s hopefully impressive conclusion, and when we plan out our watch lists from the anime set to come at us in only a few weeks. Admittedly, I’m a bit late with this one, with sites such as THAT already posting their (quite extensive) coverage on the upcoming season, so I’ll try and keep the info to a minimum and focus on my own opinions of what to watch. Without having to think about it, though, I can tell you one thing right away: new season of ef + new season of Clannad = EPIC WIN.

Hello world~!

Ah…Septemer 1st. A fitting day for new beginnings, is it not? The crisp fall air, the paling blue sky (neither of which match with the above picture), the humble first post of an ambitious anime fan’s new blog…
…as well as the fact that this self-proclaimed “ambitious anime fan” is returning to school tomorrow. A perfect time to begin a time consuming hobby like blogging, isn’t it?

That aside, I figured this would be as good a day as any to initiate my first ever anime blog, and what better way to do it than with a short melodramatic opening and a picture of Shiori?

…Well, there are probably a lot of better ways to do it, but this one works too. Either way, I’m not quite sure how well this whole blogging thing is going to work (what with my getting things started precisely at the end of summer), nor can I give you any hints on what to expect (as I have yet to figure that out myself), but I hope you enjoy your stay nonetheless. If you want to know anything more about me, check out the About page; otherwise, just keep lurking until I get around to writing a REAL post.

Wouldn’t this be nice?

P.S. I’m a Key fan, even though I can’t read Japanese. I’m also a Shiori fan.

P.S.S. In an effort to come up with some sort of signature to conclude my posts with (yes, something more unique than “-ETERNAL”), I decided on using a certain little series of hiragana that we should all be familiar with. Though I’m aware that this is completely out of context, just think of it as a guaruntee on my part that this won’t be that last you’ll hear from me.

…Though I can’t promise that I won’t mysteriously disappear for a little while if Kanon or ef – a tale of memories ever get translated.
