[Launch] – Animal Crossing: City Folk

by eternal on November 16, 2008

Despite what I say about casual gaming and LOL Wii Fit LOL, Animal Crossing is one of those utterly casual and “kiddie” games that I’ll probably always be playing. I’m not sure why I like it when I could just as easily play The Sims (or even try wandering around the real world), but I do know for a fact that I’ve been looking forward to this one almost as much as Gears of War 2. Perhaps it has something to do with childhood memories – funny how my childhood memories stretch up to the early Gamecube generation – but for some reason, whenever I play an Animal Crossing game I always get that warm, fuzzy feeling that I usually only get from good shoujo. I’m aware of how stupid that sounds, but it’s the truth, and it’s probably the only reason I’m still playing a childish game about catching bugs and talking to animals.

But I digress: the new Animal Crossing game for the Wii has just launched in North America, and I’m about to play it. Hopefully it’ll last me until I get around to watching Special A or Nana.

Add me now for future trades/whatnot.

I’m sad that we couldn’t transfer all the bells we had though. Oh well, time to play daily.

It’s okay to return to the kiddy days! Recently, I find myself steering towards shows like Kyou no Go no Ni and Hyakko. Apparently, I really miss the days of school!

Back in school, I’d never admit I’d play a game like Anime Crossing. You know, for the fear of being teased. But now, it’s all good. Zomfg I love childish stuff :P.

When I first bought this game, I found myself spending hours on hours playing it. It is a wonderful game, but very time consuming. Good memories none the less.

@ S i N: Added. We need to share fruits ;P

@ M12: I’ve been getting into Kyou no Go no ni myself, it’s surprisingly nice to see an anime about elementary school instead of high school. The funny thing is, I’m hardly old enough to be talking about reminiscing, but I always find myself looking back when I watch that show XD

@ ScanDigital: It really is time consuming, but from what I learned from the previous games, it’s usually a good idea to play a little each day. I’ve found that three fossils a day and a new batch of fruits every few days add up to quite a bit more than several hours of fishing. It’s a great game either way though ^^
